The Project
A bold Japanese dining space where tradition meets a raw, contemporary edge. Kid Kyoto brings together the atmosphere of a ’90s-style Japanese izakaya with an expressive, modern interior. Dark, moody lighting, polished concrete and exposed brickwork create a grungy backdrop, while Japanese-inspired artwork, murals and neon-lit installations give the venue its distinctive identity. The design balances traditional Japanese influences with a punk-inspired aesthetic, creating an intimate and energetic setting that reflects the character of the restaurant and its modern approach to Japanese cuisine.
At the heart of the venue, a large robata grill forms a key feature of the kitchen, allowing diners to watch the chefs prepare dishes over Japanese charcoal. The result is a vibrant dining environment that combines raw materials, bold artwork and Japanese character, creating an experience that feels both distinctly contemporary and rooted in the atmosphere of Kyoto and Tokyo.
